Killer Proteins

Let us discard morality for a moment and look at this problem define depict point of view. 

Then there is the type of protein present in the nervous system of our body know as prions, these are far from regular protein though they make up our body but are devoid of any genetic material. In their normal form they are not dangerous but if it's in its beta structure which is formed during the formation of a protein when near a prion can be quite dangerous. 

Such dangerous prions appear in our body but are immediately removed in a biological process. Exception to this process arises if the growth of prions is out of control then the person is doomed. The brain cells are gradually destroyed starting from the cerebellum so the person loses balance and coordination. Then it spreads throughout the brain resulting in the formation of a sponge like structure inside it.

 In Papua New Guinea there is a tribe named fore, who had a bizzare funeral practice where they ate their relative's flesh and suffered from a disease named kuru,where the people lost control and couldn't even rise from the floor or take the food on their own and coudnt control their bodily function nor their motions. As a result, they died. 

Due to genetic degeneration, the mechanism of self cleaning was disrupted, which led to emergence of another prion disease, jacob's disease similar to kuru. 

An infected person developed pathological prions and when dead was passed on to others as they ate his flesh. So the infection spread. Incubation period of kuru was 27 years. So even after ending the practice of eating their dead relatives, thry suffered more. 

Such infectious prions can also be taken up by eating any animal meat. Also prions cant be killed even if boilled, dried, frozen, exposed to gamma rays, treated with alcohol or acid.
